BAVU BLAKES
Bavu Blakes is an educator, scholar, and award-winning musician who bridges Hip Hop, education, and spirituality. A 7th-grade humanities teacher and graduate student, he collaborates with Grammy winners and focuses his research on how the Hip Hop generation supports today’s youth. Blakes, a curriculum specialist and school leader, has presented his work on anti-racist solidarity and diverse classrooms at national conferences. He is currently studying the impact of student-driven assemblies on school culture. In 2015, Austin's mayor proclaimed April 23rd as Bavu Blakes Day. Blakes is set to graduate with an M.Ed from UT-Austin in May 2017.

With over 20 years of commercial construction experience, Brian Brian, with over 20 years of commercial construction experience, leads "The Construction Initiative" (TCI), offering consulting services and mentorship to commercial builders and individuals. Through TCI, Brian supports men in navigating challenges like self-identity, purpose, and fatherhood. He is also an author, with his upcoming book, OPTIMANZATION® (The Science of Integration: Spirit, Soul, and Body), aimed at empowering men to embrace their roles as leaders and protectors. Additionally, Brian is launching programs like "Soul Training" to help individuals develop self-awareness and set intentional life paths.
